Abstract: [050] A real-time digital twin and AI-based performance monitoring system and method for a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle are disclosed. Pixhawk telemetry having heterogeneous update rates is received and converted into a temporally coherent state vector with channel-confidence information. An aircraft-specific physics- aware digital twin uses the coherent state vector and a configuration fingerprint to generate expected aerodynamic, propulsion, energy, navigation and control-response values for the instantaneous flight condition. A residual engine determines condition-normalized multi-domain residuals between observed and expected behaviour and maintains a protected adaptive baseline that is updated only during sufficiently healthy and observable intervals. An AI analytics engine analyses temporal residual patterns and contextual flight information, while a physics-consistency gate suppresses classifications inconsistent with the reconstructed aircraft state. A confidence- weighted decision engine identifies degradation, estimates mission impact, and generates an alert, maintenance or mission recommendation, and a traceable digital-twin event snapshot. The arrangement enables incipient fault detection without relying solely on fixed telemetry thresholds and can operate as a passive observer without modification of the basic Pixhawk flight-control loop.
