Abstract: ABSTRACT REAL-TIME ASL TO ISL GESTURE TRANSLATION SYSTEM USING VISION TRANSFORMER AND LLM The present invention discloses a real- time ASL to ISL gesture translation system (100) for translating American Sign Language gestures into Indian Sign Language gestures. The system (100) comprises a data collection and preprocessing module (110) with data augmentation, an ASL gesture recognition module (120) employing a Vision Transformer unit (124) with self-attention across image patches achieving 97.65 percent accuracy across 36 gesture classes, a text correction module (130) with a Large Language Model unit (134) for correcting raw recognition output into grammatically correct English, an ISL gesture synthesis module (140) with a text-to-gesture mapping unit (142) and ISL gesture image database (144) for generating culturally appropriate ISL gesture sequences, and an evaluation module (150) with classification metrics and confusion matrix analysis. The system achieves 100 percent word-level ISL translation accuracy for tested phrases. [
