Abstract: The proposed invention presents an Automated smart traffic signal control system designed to improve traffic management at road intersections using real-time video input. The system detects and counts vehicles in different approaches and dynamically adjusts signal timings based on traffic density to ensure smooth and balanced traffic flow. It also includes an emergency vehicle detection mechanism that provides priority signal clearance to ambulances, fire trucks, and police vehicles, thereby improving response time and public safety. Additionally, a maximum waiting time constraint is implemented to prevent starvation of any approach. Overall, the system provides an efficient, automated, and reliable solution for reducing congestion, minimizing delays, and enhancing road safety.
