MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611086411 A) filed by Chandigarh University on July 15, 2026, for Real-Time Adaptive Zero-Trust With Campus-Aware Trust Decay And Autonomous Micro Segmentation.

Inventors include Sudhanshu Malhotra; Arsh Khatri; and Navpreet Kaur Walia.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a campus-aware adaptive Zero Trust network security framework for dynamically managing network access in institutional environments. The framework comprises a Real-Time Trust Decay Engine (RTTDE), a Context-Aware Campus Risk Model (CACRM), and an Autonomous Micro- Segmentation Engine (AMSE) configured to continuously evaluate user and device trust during active network sessions. Following user authentication and device compliance verification, an initial trust score is generated based on identity attributes, device posture, and role sensitivity. The trust score is continuously recalculated using a time-dependent trust decay function that considers behavioural anomalies, session duration, academic calendar events, campus zone sensitivity, and resource criticality. Based on adaptive trust thresholds, the system autonomously enforces network segmentation by injecting Software Defined Networking (SDN) rules, updating firewall policies, and performing VLAN reassignment. The invention provides scalable, proactive, and automated Zero Trust security with continuous risk assessment, autonomous access control, and dynamic privilege restoration.
