Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated rural farming system known as “RAYAT AGRO FARM” for efficient utilization of limited agricultural land through phased livestock and poultry farming. The system comprises three major phases, namely buffalo dairy farming, goat rearing and poultry farming, along with common facilities for water supply, feed and fodder management, access pathways and organic-waste management. The buffalo unit comprises a covered shed, open paddock, feeding and drinking facilities and a milking area. The goat unit comprises a raised or slatted-floor shed with separate compartments for different categories of goats. The poultry unit comprises a suitably ventilated poultry shed with feeding, drinking, lighting and litter-management facilities. The different units are physically separated to improve hygiene and biosecurity. Buffalo dung, goat droppings and poultry litter are collected and utilized through composting, vermicomposting and/or biogas generation. The invention provides a simple, scalable and sustainable farming model for efficient land utilization, diversified farm income and recycling of agricultural waste.
