Abstract: Disclosed is a radiolucent convertible table-chair apparatus for positioning a patient during diagnostic imaging. The apparatus comprises a patient-supporting assembly comprising a radiolucent platform, a backrest section movably coupled to the radiolucent platform, and a lower limb support section coupled to the radiolucent platform. An actuation assembly moves the patient-supporting assembly between a flat imaging-table configuration and at least one seated imaging-chair configuration. An immobilization arrangement comprising a torso restraint and a pelvic restraint is secured to the patient-supporting assembly. A height-adjustable base supports the patient-supporting assembly and is coupled to lockable caster wheels. The radiolucent platform and the backrest section define a diagnostic-radiation transmission region through which the patient is imageable in each configuration while remaining retained on the same patient-supporting assembly.
