Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for visual positioning. In an aspect, a positioning entity determines a region of interest in one or more images obtained from one or more cameras, wherein the region of interest corresponds to at least a portion of a target object detected in the one or more images, obtains a set of key visual features associated with the target object based on the one or more images, estimates three-dimensional dimensions of the target object based at least in part on a type of the target object, and stores the set of key visual features and the three-dimensional dimensions of the target object for subsequent positioning of the target object.
