Abstract: Provided is a protective member 4. The protective member 4 includes, between a radiator 1 and a guide shroud 3 along the vehicle’s longitudinal axis, a plurality of horizontal crosspieces (13, 14, 15) disposed transversely and spaced vertically. The guide shroud 3 includes an upper wall 3A and a lower wall 3B, each having an inner surface that extends along the vehicle’s longitudinal axis and slopes either downward or upward relative to a horizontal reference. Each of the upper-positioned horizontal crosspieces 13 has an inclined section 13A that follows the slope of the inner surface of the upper wall 3A and a horizontal flat section 13B that joins the read end of the inclined section 13A and extends further to define a rear end 13c of the horizontal flat section 13B. Each of the lower-positioned crosspieces 15 has an inclined section 15A that follows the slope of the inner surface of the lower wall 3B and a horizontal flat section 15B that is joined to the rear end of the inclined section 15A and extends further to define a rear end 15c of the horizontal flat section 15B.
