Abstract: The present application relates to the technical field of wireless communications, and provides a quality of service (QoS) parameter notification method and an apparatus, used for determining the type of QoS parameters used by an access network device. In the method, a first communication apparatus receives first information from a second communication apparatus, a QoS set corresponding to the first information comprising QoS parameters based on a QoS flow and QoS parameters based on a protocol data unit set. The first communication apparatus determines that QoS parameters used by the second communication apparatus are QoS parameters based on a QoS flow or QoS parameters based on a protocol data unit set. On the basis of the solution, the first communication apparatus can determine whether the QoS parameters used by the second communication apparatus are the QoS parameters based on the QoS flow or the QoS parameters based on the protocol data unit set, so that during the transmission of a data stream, the data stream can be processed with reference to the QoS parameters used by the second communication apparatus.
