MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411103997 A) filed by Lovely Professional University on December 28, 2024, for Quality By Design Development Of Snedds For Fisetin And Hesperidin Bioavailability.

Inventor includes Dr. Ramanjireddy Tatiparthi.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the instantaneous production of microspheres for sustained ophthalmic drug delivery, specifically within the pharmaceutical field. The method involves preparing a formulation comprising EUDRAGIT RSPO, HPMC K4M, and EC, which is then mixed with an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) to form a microsphere matrix. A factorial design approach is employed to optimize the concentration of these components, ensuring the production of microspheres under controlled conditions that achieve a non-fickian transport diffusion mechanism and zero-order kinetics. These microspheres are designed to encapsulate the API, providing sustained drug release over an extended period, maintaining therapeutic drug levels in the conjunctival sac, and protecting the API from acidic degradation. The method allows for tailoring the microspheres for different drugs by varying the concentration of the components and includes scaling up the production process to a pilot scale for larger-scale manufacturing and distribution.
