MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617077615 A) filed by Lenovo Beijing Limited on June 23, 2026, for Qos Flow Mapping For Multiplexed Media Flows.
Inventors include Zheng, Lizhuo; Luo, Haiyan; Xu, Xiaoying; and Dai, Mingzeng.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to apparatuses, UE and methods that supports QoS flow mapping for multiplexed media flows. In one aspect, a first apparatus obtains protocol description and multiplexing identification information associated with multiple sets of QoS parameters for media streams that are carried in a data packet and multiplexed on a single transport layer connection. The protocol description comprises first information about where to obtain the multiplexing identification information from the data packet, and the multiplexing identification information is used for identifying the media streams. Then, the first apparatus determines QoS Flow Identifiers (QFIs) for QoS flows, wherein each of the QFIs is associated with one of the media streams. In turn, the first apparatus provides a second apparatus or a UE with the following: second information about mapping among the QFIs, the multiplexing identification information and the multiple sets of QoS parameters.
