MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641062764 A) filed by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham on May 18, 2026, for Pyro-Gasifier Reactor Assembly With Annular Heat Recirculation For Trigeneration.
Inventors include Reghu, Resmi; and Kottakalathil, Ashwini.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: A pyro-gasifier reactor assembly (100), a system (400), and a method (600) are disclosed for trigeneration of energy products from biomass. The assembly (100) includes an inner chamber (102) configured for pyrolysis under oxygen-deficient conditions and an outer chamber (104) concentrically enclosing the inner chamber (102) and configured for gasification under a controlled oxygen supply through an air inlet (108). An annular passage (106) is defined between the inner chamber (102) and the outer chamber (104) and is configured to direct high-temperature exhaust gases along a circumferential flow path. Thermal energy from the exhaust gases is transferred through the annular passage (106) to sustain pyrolysis within the inner chamber (102). The assembly (100) facilitates generation of syngas, bio-oil, and bio- char from biomass through thermally coupled pyrolysis and gasification.
