MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611105090 A) filed by Panipat Institute Of Engineering And Technology Piet on September 01, 2026, for Pyrazole-Linked Isatin Derivatives And A Process For Preparation Thereof.
Inventors include Dr. Benu Chaudhary; Dr. Arti Soni; Mr. Kapil Kumar; Preeti; Babita Patial; and Abhishek Thakur.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to pyrazole-linked isatin derivatives and a process for preparation thereof for antibacterial and dihydrofolate reductase inhibitory applications. The derivatives are prepared through a multistep sequence comprising formation of an isatin-derived hydrazine intermediate, preparation and Vilsmeier- Haack formylation of a substituted pyrazole intermediate, condensation of the intermediates, and cyclization with mercaptosuccinic acid. The synthesized derivatives are characterized using melting-point determination, thin-layer chromatography, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and proton/carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Antibacterial activity is evaluated against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Molecular docking against Escherichia coli DHFR, molecular dynamics simulation, ADME prediction and structure-activity relationship analysis are employed for lead assessment. The disclosed derivatives exhibit antibacterial activity, and selected compounds show favorable predicted DHFR binding, complex stability and pharmacokinetic characteristics, providing a heterocyclic platform for further antibacterial lead optimization.
