Abstract: A power quality conditioning system (100) may be provided for a distribution network. The system (100) may have a photovoltaic source (102), a wind energy source (104) with a rectifier (110) and a thermoelectric generator (112), whose outputs may be combined by a multi-input single-output DC-DC converter (114) to support a direct current link (122). A battery energy storage unit (118) may be coupled to the direct current link (122). A shunt converter (124) and a series converter (126) may share the direct current link (122). A controller (128) may be configured to manage energy flow, extract maximum power, regulate the direct current link voltage, and control the shunt converter (124) and the series converter (126) to compensate harmonics, reactive power and voltage disturbances. The system (100) may function to improve power quality, reduce battery stress and ensure uninterrupted supply.
