MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611102543 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on August 25, 2026, for Pulmonary Drug Delivery Device.

Inventors include Ruchika Goyal; and Krishna Mittal.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: A pulmonary drug delivery device (100) for delivering a medicament to a respiratory tract of a patient is disclosed. The device (100) comprises a sensing unit (104) configured to acquire physiological and inhalation parameters, a processing unit (106a) configured to determine a drug delivery command and generate actuator control signals, a converter (108) configured to convert the actuator control signals into electrical drive signals, an actuator (110) configured to undergo controlled mechanical displacement, a membrane (112) operatively coupled to the actuator (110), and a reservoir (114) configured to store the medicament. Deformation of the membrane (112) generates pressure within the reservoir (114) to expel a controlled quantity of the medicament. A corresponding method of operation is also disclosed, wherein physiological parameters are analysed to control medicament delivery in an adaptive and controlled manner.
