Abstract: The present invention a public transport seat is disclosed with an integrated hybrid triboelectric and piezoelectric energy harvesting system that generates electrical energy from passive passenger micro-movements and vehicle vibration. The seat cushion includes triboelectric frictional layers that generate charge through contact and separation during posture shifts and low-frequency motion. A piezoelectric mesh network embedded in the seat base converts compression and vibration into electrical output. The generated signals are conditioned using an AC-to-DC rectifier, voltage regulator, and charge controller, and stored in an energy storage unit comprising a supercapacitor and/or rechargeable battery. A utilization module provides regulated power to auxiliary onboard loads such as USB charging ports, LED seat illumination, and emergency indicator lighting. The system is modular and can be retrofitted as a plug-and- play seat energy node across multiple seats in buses, trains, and metro coaches, enabling distributed micro-generation without additional passenger effort and reducing auxiliary power draw from vehicle electrical systems.
