Inventor includes Dr. Tapapriya Mahanta.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A public-transit resting assistive device for commuters comprises of an expandable rectangular frame 101 having a first and second portion developed to be installed around a seat of a public transport, an ultrasonic sensor embedded in frame 101 for determining dimensions of seat, suction cups 102 arranged on inner periphery of frame 101 securing frame 101 onto seat’s surface, a primary and secondary push button 104 provided on first and second portion frame 101 accessed by a primary and secondary commuter providing input, an imaging unit 105 integrated in frame 101 for capturing and processing multiple images, an expandable plate 106 installed on first portion to expand for allowing commuter to put primary commuter’s head over plate 106, a pair of flaps 107 arranged on second portion, each via an extendable link 108 to extend/retract for deploying flaps 107.
