MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109587 A) filed by G. L. Bajaj Institute Of Technology And Management on September 12, 2026, for Public Seating Apparatus For Anonymized Thermal-Flux And Micro-Movement Monitoring.
Inventors include Mr. Akash Deep; Mr. Amardeep; Dr. Ashish Kumar Singh; and Dr. Purnendu Shekhar Pandey.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed is a public seating apparatus that passively generates anonymized physiological and behavioral proxy indicators. A frame supports an occupant-support assembly comprising a sitting panel and a backrest. Directional heat-flux sensors distributed across occupant-contact regions produce thermal-transfer signals representing heat transfer through the regions over time. Micro-movement sensors coupled beneath the sitting panel receive occupant-induced displacement and produce movement signals. A local processing unit derives occupancy records from temporally corresponding thermal-transfer and movement signals. Each occupancy record contains statistical proxy parameters without a personal identifier. Raw sensor samples are excluded from persistent storage, and multiple occupancy records are combined into an anonymized population-level aggregate for community-level trend assessment.
