Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided a user equipment configured to send user equipment assistance information in a connected mode with a traffic bearer. The user equipment may comprise at least one processor and at least one memory storing instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the user equipment to at least to perform: determining that one or more pieces of uplink traffic information that is now available has not been transmitted in any of user equipment assistance information messages comprising uplink traffic information since the user equipment was configured to provide uplink traffic information; and initiating based on the determination, a transmission of a user equipment assistance information message comprising the one or more pieces of uplink traffic information independently of the state of a prohibit timer governing the transmission of uplink traffic information.
