MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641107688 A) filed by Tecloop Innovations Pvt. Ltd on September 08, 2026, for Propeller System For Kinetic Energy Harvesting Using A Sustainable Two-Dimensional Material- Based Nanogenerator.
Inventors include Partha Kumbhakar; Royston Mathias; and Chandra Sekhar Tiwary.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The current invention is a 3D-printed propeller nanogenerator that taps energy from the rotational kinetic energy and the vibrations that are produced during the rotational motion of the propeller. The propeller nanogenerator is constructed using two-dimensional (2D) materials as the charge-generating layer with a dielectric layer to generate a potential difference, and a 3D-printed porous polymer base that has high mechanical strength. The main properties of 2D materials, including high surface area, surface charge, and high flexibility, make them ideal for high-speed propeller kinetic energy harvesting. The high vibrations and rotational motion produce contact electrification and sliding contact between the 2D materials and the dielectric, which induce charges and thereby generate electrical energy. Hence, this technology can be used in systems such as drones where the energy harvested by the propellers can be used for backup and emergencies. Moreover, the 3D-printed propeller nanogenerator can be integrated with other propeller systems such as wind mills, fans, and in the aviation field. The power generated from the 3D-printed propeller nanogenerator device can be used to charge external capacitors, batteries, or provide electrical energy to MEMS and other sensors connected to the propeller systems as backup energy in emergencies.
