MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647111889 A) filed by Tenstorrent Usa, Inc. on September 17, 2026, for Processor With One Or More Progressive Conservative Execution Modes.
Inventors include Ishii, Yasuo; Dooley, Miles Robert; Xie, Dongjie; Salvi, Manan R; Rucker, Alexander C.; Venkatachar, Ashok T; and Panwar, Deepak.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: Systems and methods related to a processor with one or more progressive conservative execution modes and an aggressive mode are disclosed herein. The aggressive execution mode makes a set of assumptions regarding the workloads for the processor, while each conservative execution mode is predicated on a smaller set of assumptions than the aggressive mode. The conservative execution modes may be progressive in that each progressive conservative execution mode is associated with a different quantity of assumptions. While operating in the aggressive mode, the processor can realize certain benefits in terms of speed of execution or reduced resources needed to execute the workloads. While executing instructions in an aggressive execution mode, a processor can detect that an assumption is incorrect for at least one instruction and can accordingly transition to a conservative execution mode (that may not make that assumption) to execute the instruction.
