Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of preparing Compound (1): (Formula1), or salt or solvate thereof, the method comprising reacting a composition comprising 4-aminodiphenylamine, or a salt or solvate thereof, with acetone, mesityl oxide, diacetone alcohol, a compound of Formula (I): (Formula I), wherein R1 and R2 are as defined in the specification, or a combination thereof; in the presence of a catalyst and, optionally, a solvent; at a reaction temperature of from about 50 °C to about 180 °C. The present disclosure also provides compositions comprising Compound (1), or a salt or solvate thereof, prepared by the methods disclosed herein.
