MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617085786 A) filed by Bp P. L. C. on July 13, 2026, for Processes For Fischer-Tropsch Conversion Of Carbon Dioxide To Condensable Hydrocarbons.

Inventors include Eschenbacher, Andreas; Taylor, David; and Yearsley, Kathryn.

The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure related generally to a process for preparing hydrocarbons. The process includes providing a first feed stream comprising carbon dioxide and hydrogen in a first reaction zone, contacting the first feed stream with an iron-based FT catalyst material under conditions sufficient to form a first product stream comprising C5+ hydrocarbons, water, carbon dioxide and hydrogen; in a first separation zone, separating at least part of the water of the first product stream to provide a first separated water-rich product stream and a first separated water-poor product stream comprising carbon dioxide and hydrogen; providing a second feed stream comprising at least a portion of the carbon dioxide and in second reaction zone, contacting the second feed stream with an iron-based FT catalyst material under conditions sufficient to form an second product stream comprising C5+ hydrocarbons, water, carbon dioxide and hydrogen. Additional cycles of conversion and separation of water can subsequently be performed.
