Abstract: TITLE: PROCESS OF PREPARATION OF MULTILAYER BIOADHESIVE DISSOLVING MICRONEEDLE PATCH FOR PRECISION ORAL THERAPEUTICS APPLICANT: 1. MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH 2. MEENAKSHI AMMAL DENTAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL ABSTRACT A process for preparing a multilayer blueberry pomace-derived bioadhesive dissolving microneedle patch for precision oral therapeutics. The process comprises of preparing a protective backing layer by dissolving polyvinyl alcohol in distilled water, casting and drying to form a thin film. A bioadhesive reservoir layer is prepared by dissolving chitosan in acetic acid, blending with tamarind seed powder and sodium alginate, followed by casting and drying over the backing layer. Blueberry pomace extract is prepared by macerating dried blueberry pomace powder in a hydroalcoholic solvent, filtering and concentrating. A dissolving microneedle matrix is fabricated using polyvinyl pyrrolidone and gelatin, incorporating the blueberry pomace extract and zinc oxide nanoparticles, followed by casting into silicone molds, centrifugation and drying. Therapeutic tips are enriched with blueberry pomace extract, curcumin and hyaluronic acid. The layers are sequentially laminated and dried to obtain a stable multilayer bioadhesive dissolving microneedle patch.
