MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647088195 A) filed by Torxx Kinetic Pulverizer Limited on July 20, 2026, for Process For Treating Waste Materials Having A Low Softening Temperature With Kinetic Pulverization.

Inventors include Aldridge, Clint; Everson, Peter; and Mueller, Christopher.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the treatment of waste streams having a portion of material with a low softening temperature, such as thermoplastics. Wast streams can include manufacturing waste, such as composite flooring reject material, or consumer waste. The process can include a kinetic pulverization stage with a kinetic pulverizer that produces an airflow having multiple overlapping vortices that simultaneously size-reduces the manufacturing waste and reduces or maintains an internal temperature of the kinetic pulverizer when compared with conventional size-reduction machinery so as to efficiently size reduce the thermoplastic. The kinetic pulverizer can be selectively operated at specific speeds that serve to size reduce a majority (for example, between 70% and 100%) of the waste in a single pass (one pass kinetic pulverization) or selectively liberate a portion of the manufacturing waste product. Optionally, the process can include a separation stage, such as mechanical and/or magnetic screening.
