MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541025964 A) filed by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited on March 21, 2025, for Process For Synthesis Of Zeolite 5a For Hydrogen Pressure Swing Adsorption (psa) Application.
Inventors include Mishra, Prashant; Palaparthi, Neehar; and Tompala, Annaji Rajiv Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a process for synthesis of Zeolite 5A for hydrogen pressure swing adsorption (PSA). The process comprises mixing sodium metasilicate anhydrous, sodium aluminate, NaOH and distilled water to provide an initial zeolite 4A gel. Ageing the initial zeolite 4A gel for 1 to 24 hours to get an aged zeolite 4A gel. Followed by crystallizing the aged zeolite 4A gel at temperature in the range of 80 to 120oC for a period of 1 to 8 hours to get a crystallized product. Crystallized product is washed with distilled water and dried overnight to form zeolite 4A. Finally, subjecting zeolite 4A to a calcium exchange reaction to form the zeolite 5A.
