Abstract: ABSTRACT A process (100) for sequential recovery of polyphenols and pectin from mango peel waste is disclosed. The process comprises preparing mango peel powder and contacting the powder with a natural deep eutectic solvent (NADES) comprising a hydrogen bond acceptor and a hydrogen bond donor. The resulting extraction mixture is subjected to ultrasound-assisted treatment and microwave-assisted treatment to obtain a bioactive-enriched extract. Following separation of insoluble biomass, a supernatant containing dissolved polyphenols and pectin is passed through a resin separation stage comprising a cross-linked polystyrene-based resin configured to selectively adsorb polyphenolic compounds while permitting a pectin-containing fraction to pass as an eluate. Pectin is recovered from the eluate through alcohol-induced precipitation, while polyphenols are recovered from the resin through alcohol-mediated desorption. The process (100) enables sequential fractionation and recovery of multiple bioactive constituents from a common extraction stream using an integrated extraction and purification workflow.
