MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631074602 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology Rourkela Nit Rourkela on June 16, 2026, for Process For Determining Cie Characteristics Of Mn-Yag-Pvdf Film Capable Of Exhibiting Dual-Colour For Use In Anti-Counterfeit Applications.
Inventors include Jena, Ranu; Roy, Lakshi Prosad; and Nayak, Bibhuti Bhusan.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: Embodiments herein discloses a simple and effective solution-casting method for preparing a flexible, foldable, and dual- colour-emitting Mn-YAG-based PVDF film, as well as qualifying as a unique signature or fingerprint with distinct characteristic features, including RGB colour intensity profile, CIE coordinates, the number of occurrences in the x- and y- coordinates of the CIE diagram, and percentage deviation in the colour components (red, green, and blue), which could be a unique process for authenticating the security features for anticounterfeit applications. The said film exhibits two distinct emission colours, pink and blue, when excited at 254 nm and 365 nm, respectively. Notably, the pixel-wise analysis of RGB colour intensity profiles, CIE coordinates, the number of occurrences in the x- and y-coordinates of the CIE diagram, and percentage deviation of RGB for individual pink or blue emission-based Mn-YAG PVDF films serves as a unique signature and could be an efficient process for diverse luminescent applications, including colour-variable components in optoelectronic devices, sensing, actuation, security-based identification systems, or anti-counterfeit applications, and the like.
