MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641109898 A) filed by Venkatachalapathy Pacha Dharma Naidu on September 14, 2026, for Process And Recombinant Microalga For Converting Carbon Dioxide Of Industrial Waste Gas.
Inventor includes Venkatachalapathy Pacha Dharma Naidu.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: “PROCESS AND RECOMBINANT MICROALGA FOR CONVERTING CARBON DIOXIDE OF INDUSTRIAL WASTE GAS’ A process for converting carbon dioxide of an industrial waste gas into microbial biomass is disclosed. An industrial waste gas comprising carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides is supplied to a culture of a microorganism in a cultivation unit, the culture is illuminated and biomass is recovered. The residual carbonic anhydrase activity of the culture is at most 60 percent of that of an acclimated reference culture of the same species and strain cultivated in the same gas, and the culture exhibits a volumetric carbon dioxide fixation rate of at least 300 milligrams per litre per day. The process is defined without reference to the means by which the activity was reduced. A recombinant microorganism that sustains growth in the gas where a corresponding microorganism ceases growth, and a process for producing it, are also disclosed. FIG. 1
