MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110843 A) filed by Manipal University Jaipur on September 16, 2026, for Procedural Neutrality And Narrative Divergence Monitoring System For Ai Decision Engines.
Inventors include Dr. Supernova Chakraborty; Dr. Bharti Singh; and Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a governance monitoring system (100) for monitoring an artificial intelligence-based decision engine (101). The system comprises an input processing module (110), a procedural neutrality scoring module (120), a narrative divergence detection module (130), an oversight routing module (140), a governance log and audit database (150), and a human review interface (160). The input processing module (110) processes communication data, AI-generated classifications and reference baseline data to generate structured issue-classification parameters. The procedural neutrality scoring module (120) calculates a Procedural Neutrality Index (PNI) based on weighted parameters including impartiality, consistency, transparency and contestability. The narrative divergence detection module (130) calculates a Narrative Divergence Index (NDI) by determining weighted deviations between AI-generated classifications and corresponding reference classifications. The oversight routing module (140) evaluates the PNI and NDI against configurable thresholds and generates an intervention state when a threshold condition is satisfied, thereby routing the corresponding decision processing instance to the human review interface (160). The governance log and audit database (150) stores relevant processing, evaluation and intervention information for subsequent examination and audit.
