Abstract: ABSTRACT PROACTIVE VIRTUAL MACHINE MIGRATION SYSTEM USING MACHINE LEARNING BASED OVERLOAD PREDICTION IN CLOUD DATA CENTERS The present invention discloses a proactive virtual machine migration system (100) for cloud data centers that employs machine learning based overload prediction to initiate VM migrations before host resource saturation occurs. The system (100) comprises a simulation layer (110) modelling a data center with configurable hosts (112) and virtual machines (114), a data layer (120) collecting multi-dimensional resource metrics at periodic scheduling intervals, a feature engineering pipeline (200) transforming raw metrics into a ten-dimensional lag-augmented feature vector capturing instantaneous resource states, temporal lag values, rate-of-change deltas, and rolling means, an inference layer (130) comprising a local HTTP inference server (132) hosting a trained Random Forest binary classifier (300) that predicts overload probability through vote-fraction estimation across 200 decision trees, and a control layer (140) that queries the inference server at each scheduling interval and triggers proactive VM migration when predicted probability exceeds a configurable threshold.
