MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641110146 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 14, 2026, for Privacy-Preserving System For Cross-Institutional Dormant Asset Discovery And Graph-Based Successor Verification.
Inventors include Padmakumari P; Yash Kumar Singh; and Siddharth Goutam Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention provides a privacy-preserving cryptographic system and method for cross-institutional discovery of dormant financial assets and verification of successor claims. A Successor Registration Module (101) verifies successor identity and inheritance documents (102), while a Successor Discovery Token (SDT) Engine (103) generates a cryptographically signed token containing a composite identity hash. A Hybrid Twin Index Framework (104) maintained independently by each financial institution performs probabilistic membership matching using salted identifiers without transmitting raw personal or account data. Positive matches are represented by a Financial Asset Digital Twin (FADT) Engine (106) using non-identifying asset metadata. An AssetLinkNet (ALN) Artificial Intelligence Module (107) constructs a heterogeneous relationship graph and generates a Successor Confidence Score for successor authenticity evaluation (108). Upon validation, an Asset Reconciliation and Transfer Engine (109) generates cryptographically signed transfer instructions, while a DADSTE Audit Repository (110) maintains verifiable audit records without centralized storage of sensitive financial information.
