Abstract: A pressure-release event counting device (100) for a pressure-cooking appliance (120) includes a mounting enclosure (102) to be detachably mounted to the pressure-cooking appliance (120), a positioning structure (104), and a concealed sensing assembly (106) supported by the positioning structure (104). Concealed sensing assembly (106) may be mechanically actuated by successive movements of a pressure-regulating member (122) to generate a sensing signal corresponding to pressure-release events. A counting circuit (108) receives sensing signal to determine a cumulative pressure-release event count, and a display (110) operatively coupled to counting circuit (108) may present cumulative pressure-release event count. Concealed sensing assembly (106) may be protected from direct exposure to heat and steam while detecting successive movements of pressure-regulating member (122). The device (100) enables automatic detection, counting, and visual indication of pressure-release events for reducing need for continuous user observation or acoustic monitoring and facilitating retrofit installation on existing pressure-cooking appliances (120).
