MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611099477 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on August 18, 2026, for Pressure Redistribution And Pressure Ulcer Prevention System And Method.

Inventor includes Disha Singh.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A system (100) and method for automated pressure redistribution and prevention of pressure-induced tissue injury in a person are disclosed. The system (100) comprises a person support platform (101), a multi-directional actuation assembly (102), a distributed pressure sensing layer (103), a physiological monitoring module (104), and a processing unit (105). The distributed pressure sensing layer (103) continuously acquires pressure distribution data, while the physiological monitoring module (104) acquires physiological parameters including skin temperature, tissue oxygen saturation, body movement, heart rate variability, and microclimate humidity. The processing unit (105) generates a real-time pressure distribution profile, identifies localized tissue loading regions, determines an optimized pressure offloading orientation, and autonomously actuates the multi directional actuation assembly (102) for repositioning the person support platform (101). The system (100) performs closed-loop repositioning control using temporal pressure variation patterns and person-specific biomechanical response data to reduce sustained localized tissue loading associated with pressure ulcer development.
