MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621094661 A) filed by Dr V Srishti; and Dr. Sanjeev Singh on August 05, 2026, for Pressure-Limiting Periosteal Elevator With An Internal Force-Regulating Mechanism.

Inventors include Dr V Srishti; and Dr. Sanjeev Singh.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a dental surgical instrument, namely a pressure-limiting periosteal elevator incorporating an internal force-regulating mechanism for controlled elevation of the periosteum during dental procedures. The instrument comprises a first periosteal elevator tip (102), a neck portion (104), a spring housing (106), an internal compression spring (108), a handle body (110), a pressure indicator window (112), a textured gripping portion (114), and a second periosteal elevator tip (116). The internal compression spring is configured to absorb excessive force applied through at least one working tip during periosteal elevation and to provide tactile, visual and/or audible feedback when a predetermined force threshold is reached. In one embodiment, the force-regulating mechanism is incorporated into one working tip, while the opposite working tip functions as a conventional periosteal elevator. In alternative embodiments, the force-regulating mechanism may be incorporated into both working tips. The invention minimizes soft tissue trauma, improves procedural precision, enhances operator confidence, and serves as an effective training aid.
