The inner vessel (104) is disposed within the outer vessel (102) and configured to receive one or more food items. The water compartment (106) is configured to receive water for generation of steam during a cooking operation. The food support structure (114) is disposed within the inner vessel (104) and configured to support food items while permitting multidirectional steam circulation. The audible indication assembly is configured to generate an audible signal responsive to release of pressurized steam (120). The thermal insulation assembly is disposed around the outer vessel (102), the thermal insulation assembly includes a vacuum-insulated layer (118) and a particulate thermal retention layer (122).
