Abstract: TITLE: PRESSURE-ACTIVATED SELF-CLOSING PEN WITH AUTOMATIC TIP PROTECTION MECHANISM APPLICANT: MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a pressure-activated automatic capping pen with a self-closing tip protection mechanism for automatically controlling exposure of a writing tip during writing and protecting the writing tip during non-use. The pen comprises a pen body accommodating the writing tip, a movable protective cap, a pressure-responsive actuation assembly, and a restoring mechanism. The pressure-responsive actuation assembly comprises a spring element, a sliding guide, and a lever mechanism coupled to the protective cap. Application of axial writing pressure causes rearward displacement of the sliding guide, actuating the lever mechanism to retract the protective cap and expose the writing tip. Upon release of pressure, the spring element and restoring mechanism return the protective cap to a closed position. A sealing interface provides a circumferential airtight seal around the writing tip, while a micro- venting feature facilitates pressure equalization during sealing. The pen supports interchangeable refills, providing automatic operation and reusable functionality.
