Abstract: The invention relates to a pressing device and a method for applying pressure to a tire component during conveyance, wherein the pressing device comprises a first pressing member and a second pressing member movable from a raised position towards a lowered position, wherein the pressing device further comprises a lifter movable from a non-lifting state into a lifting state for lifting the first pressing member and the second pressing member into the raised position, wherein the pressing device further comprises an override member movable between an engaged state in which the override member couples the first pressing member to the lifter and an override state in which the first pressing member is released from the lifter to allow for movement of the first pressing member from the raised position towards the lowered position while the lifter is in the lifting state.
