Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated multi-layer food-preparation apparatus combining food preparation, food processing, ingredient collection and storage within a common countertop footprint. The apparatus comprises an upper work assembly having a chopping region and a receiving aperture removably accommodating a food-processing insert, preferably a grating insert. An intermediate layer comprises a removable receptacle positioned beneath the aperture such that processed food passes directly from the insert into the receptacle, and at least one additional independently accessible tray for ingredients, utensils or food scraps. A lower storage layer comprises independently movable compartments for knives and food-preparation tools. An integrated spice-storage region accommodates spices or removable spice containers. In preferred embodiments, intermediate trays and lower drawers are accessible in different directions to reduce operational interference. Food-contact components are independently removable for cleaning, and interchangeable food-processing inserts permit different preparation operations. The apparatus thereby consolidates chopping, grating, collection, seasoning and tool storage while preserving a compact food-preparation surface.
