Kubade; and Dr. Prashant Yuvaraj Mali on July 27, 2026, for Preparation Of Extract Of Curcuma Caesia Rhizome For The Treatment Of Cancer And Bacterial Infections.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a preparation of extract of Curcuma caesia rhizome for the treatment of cancer and bacterial infections. More particularly, the invention relates to the collection and authentication of Curcuma caesia rhizomes. The invention also involves extraction of Curcuma caesia rhizomes powder using methanol as solvent. The invention also comprises the primary phytochemical screening of methanolic extract of Curcuma caesia rhizomes. The invention also pertains assessment of effective separation of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids and triterpenoids in methanolic extract of Curcuma caesia rhizomes by advanced Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) techniques. The invention encompasses the in-vitro experimental investigation of methanolic extract of Curcuma caesia rhizomes using antibacterial, antioxidant and cytotoxicity assay methods by determining parameters such as minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC), percent inhibition, percent cell viability and fifty percent inhibitory concentration (IC50).
