Inventors include Satyabrata Das; Rahaman Fazlur; Gupta Priti; Gautam Prabhat; Jha Kumar Mahesh; and Cmr Institute Of Technology.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a novel Schiff base hydrazone conjugate, (E)-5-chloro-3-methyl-N'-(1-(2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl)ethylidene)-1H-indole-2- carbohydrazide, combining two privileged heterocyclic pharmacophores — indole and coumarin — through a hydrazone linker. The compound was synthesized via a facile one-pot condensation reaction between equimolar quantities of 5-chloro-3-methylindole-2-carbohydrazide and 3-acetylcoumarin in absolute ethanol under reflux conditions, employing catalytic glacial acetic acid over 6 hours. The product was isolated by filtration and recrystallized from 1,4-dioxane to afford pure material with excellent chemical stability. The dual-pharmacophoric architecture of this compound renders it a potent and versatile bioactive molecule with significant therapeutic potential across multiple disease categories.
