MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641101853 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on August 24, 2026, for Predictive Software Configuration Management Using A Multi-Agent Digital Twin And Hierarchical Cognitive Memory.

Inventors include Senthil Kumaran; Gowsik V; and Pendekanti Sai Deepthi.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a predictive software configuration management system (104) including a processor (110) and a memory (112) configured to receive software project information (102) from a plurality of software development sources and generate software knowledge representations using specialized software intelligence agents. The system maintains the software knowledge representations in a hierarchical cognitive memory comprising short-term, working, long-term, and collective memories. The system further constructs and continuously updates a software digital twin representing current and predicted future states of a software project and generates a software DNA representation representing architectural relationships, dependency relationships, configuration states, testing characteristics, and deployment characteristics. The system evaluates future-state software evolution scenarios using the software digital twin and software DNA representation to determine a predicted software state or software risk, and cryptographically records memory transitions, software DNA modifications, simulation results, and lifecycle decisions in a blockchain-based ledger for controlling a software lifecycle operation.
