MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647125255 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated on October 21, 2026, for Predictive Packet Duplication For Wireless Communication.

Inventors include Elazzouni, Sherif; Horn, Gavin Bernard; and Ozturk, Ozcan.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for utilization of an artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) model at a user equipment (UE) for control of protocol data unit (PDU) duplication at the UE. A network entity may configure the UE with multiple radio link control (RLC) legs, which may support duplicated instances of PDU transmissions, and allow the UE to use an AI/ML model to predictively perform duplication per PDU. The UE may select, using a packet duplication selection procedure (e.g., one or more AI/ML models) and based at least in part on one or more packet duplication parameters, one or more RLC legs for transmission of a PDU.
