MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631065424 A) filed by Mr. Basudev Hansdah on May 20, 2026, for Predictive Analytics Using Advisory Tool For Optimization Of Soot Blowing Operations.

Inventors include Mr. Basudev Hansdah; Mr. Pravin V Raut; Mr. Rabisankar Jeti; Mr. Vikesh Kumar; Mr. Sunil Singh; and Mr. Bhupendra Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a data-driven soot blowing advisory system for optimizing boiler performance. The system continuously monitors real-time boiler operating parameters and compares them with design or load-corrected benchmark values to identify the area of improvement. Historical soot blowing performance data under similar operating conditions, including boiler load, mill combination, and specific coal consumption, is analyzed to evaluate parameter recovery behavior. Based on deviation analysis and historical effectiveness, the system generates advisory instructions indicating the type of soot blowing required and recommends specific Long Retractable Soot Blowers or Wall Blowers to be operated in a prioritized sequence. The invention enables targeted, performance-based soot blowing, resulting in improved heat transfer efficiency, stabilized steam temperatures, optimized Furnace Gas Exit Temperature, reduced spray consumption, and enhanced operational reliability.
