The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a powder metallurgy process for producing a tantalum-modified titanium alloy. The process comprises providing a pre-alloyed Ti-6Al-4V powder and a tantalum powder, measuring the powders to obtain a composition containing 0.2 wt.% to 1.0 wt.% tantalum, and subjecting the powders to high-energy ball milling to form a homogeneous powder mixture. The powder mixture is loaded into a graphite die assembly and consolidated by vacuum hot-press sintering at about 900°C under pressure to obtain a sintered Ti-6Al-4V-Ta alloy compact. The consolidated compact is subsequently cooled to room temperature. The resulting alloy comprises a Ti-6Al-4V matrix containing dissolved tantalum and exhibiting alpha and beta phases. The disclosed process provides a controlled route for producing tantalum-modified titanium alloys through powder blending and solid-state consolidation.
