Abstract: The pouch-type battery case according to the present invention is a pouch-type battery case comprising: a cup part having an accommodation space in which an electrode assembly is accommodated; a terrace part formed along the circumference of the accommodation part; and one or more gas discharge parts, wherein each of the gas discharge parts is provided in the cup part or the terrace part, and includes at least one through-hole and a gas permeable film covering the through-hole, the gas permeable film includes an adhesive resin layer and a permeable resin layer disposed on the adhesive resin layer, each of the gas discharge parts has a gas permeability index (GPI) of 0.05 to 0.55 defined by the dimensions and physical properties of the through-hole and the gas discharge film as factors, and the gas discharge part satisfying the gas permeability index has excellent performance of preventing moisture penetration from the outside and leakage of an electrolyte while continuously discharging the gas, thereby providing a pouch-type secondary battery having improved safety and lifespan.
