Abstract: A pouch-type battery case according to the present invention comprises: a cup portion having an accommodation space in which an electrode assembly is accommodated; a terrace portion formed along the circumference of the accommodation space; and a gas discharge portion, wherein the gas discharge portion comprises at least one through-hole formed in the cup portion or the terrace portion, and a gas-permeable film covering the through-hole, the gas-permeable film is sealed in the battery case, forming a sealing area around the through-hole, and the gas discharge portion has an anti-venting index (AVI) of 3.0 or less. In the case of a gas discharge portion that satisfies the anti-venting index, gas is smoothly discharged due to a relatively low operating pressure, and durability is excellent due to a high full venting pressure, and thus a pouch-type secondary battery having improved safety and lifespan can be provided.
