MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101404 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi on August 21, 2026, for Potential-Modulated Chiral Plasmonic Electrochemical Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering Based Platform For Label-Free Enantioselective Molecular Sensing.

Inventors include Singh, Jitendra Pratap; and Bhardwaj, Lakshay.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to a sensing platform based on potential-modulated chiral plasmonic electrochemical surface-enhanced Raman scattering (EC-SERS) for direct, label-free enantiomer discrimination in liquid-state environments. Intrinsically chiral silver nanohelices generate chirality-dependent plasmonic fields, while electrochemical modulation controls molecular adsorption and charge-transfer interactions at the solid-liquid interface. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing a working electrode comprising Ag nanohelices fabricated by glancing angle deposition (GLAD). The invention further relates to a process for differentiating molecular enantiomers using the sensing platform. The sensing platform enables highly sensitive and reproducible molecular fingerprinting of chiral compounds in solution without the use of external chiral selectors, molecular modifiers, or derivatization agents, making it suitable for real-time liquid-phase chiral analysis for pharmaceutical drug evaluation, determination of enantiomeric purity, biomedical diagnostics, and pharmaceutical quality assurance.
