MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641110057 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 14, 2026, for Post-Collapse Forensic Reconstruction System Using Ledger- Linked Positional Memory Particles.
Inventors include Chandra Mouliswaran S; Mohammed Kaif K; and Pravin G.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT POST-COLLAPSE FORENSIC RECONSTRUCTION SYSTEM USING LEDGER-LINKED POSITIONAL MEMORY PARTICLES A post-collapse forensic reconstruction system comprises a structure (102) having structural zones (104), a coating (120) applied to the structural zones (104) carrying positional memory particles (110), each positional memory particle (110) comprising an optical identifier (112), a magnetic identifier, and a mechanically responsive core (116) configured to undergo irreversible state transitions distinguishable by loading mode. A particle data ledger (130) stores associations between particle identities and original three-dimensional installation coordinates. A particle recovery system (140) recovers particles from a debris field (106). A dual-identity authentication unit (150) verifies optical and magnetic identifiers. A reconstruction engine (160) comprising a probabilistic inference module (162) and confidence map generator (164) cross-references authenticated identities against the ledger (130) to retrieve original coordinates irrespective of recovery location, reads encoded state transitions, reconstructs a spatial mechanical loading field, and generates a reconstructed loading field (166) with confidence values.
