Abstract: The present invention relates to a positive electrode active material and a positive electrode comprising same. The positive electrode active material includes a compound having an olivine structure in a core thereof and represented by chemical formula 1, and thus has high safety and excellent economic efficiency. In addition, the positive electrode active material not only has a core with a large specific surface area by including the compound represented by chemical formula 1, but also can more uniformly include a porous carbon layer on the surface of the core due to being prepared by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) using a solid-state carbon source. Therefore, the positive electrode comprising same has the advantages of having excellent output performance during charging and discharging and having excellent lifespan characteristics.
